World Council of Credit Unions
World Council of Credit Unions was incorporated in Madison, Wisconsin in 1971. It was a benchmark in history for the international movement and the culmination of a dream that had stirred enthusiasm in two generations of leaders. Today, World Council acts as the leading voice for advocacy and governance on behalf of the international credit union community. The World Council continues to promote economic freedom and the sustainable growth of financial cooperatives across the globe through education, collaboration and community-based development projects. |

Credit Union National Association (CUNA)
The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) is the largest national trade association in the United States serving America's credit unions. The not-for-profit trade group is governed by volunteer directors who are elected by their credit union peers from across the nation. With its network of affiliated state credit union associations, CUNA serves America's nearly 7,000 credit unions, which are owned by more than 100 million consumer members.

CUNA partners with the state associations and credit unions to:
- Represent the interests of credit unions before the U.S. government, including Congress and federal regulatory agencies
- Organize and focus the political efforts of credit unions
- Act as the voice of the credit union movement before the public (through the press and other media)
- Provide education and training resources for the development of credit union staff and volunteers
- Provide various forums and networking opportunities for credit unions to meet and share ideas
- Provide access to cooperative products and services for credit unions
GoWest Association
The GoWest Association is the trade association representing 184 credit unions in Idaho, Oregon and Washington, with associate members in Alaska and Hawaii. The Association is the unifying voice for credit unions with state and federal legislators; helps credit unions shoulder a weighty compliance burden; provides abundant, professional development opportunities; and partners with our members to communicate the Credit Union Difference in local and national media. This support helps Northwest credit unions of all sizes thrive for their 6 million members.
The GoWest Association is the trade association representing 184 credit unions in Idaho, Oregon and Washington, with associate members in Alaska and Hawaii. The Association is the unifying voice for credit unions with state and federal legislators; helps credit unions shoulder a weighty compliance burden; provides abundant, professional development opportunities; and partners with our members to communicate the Credit Union Difference in local and national media. The NWCUA’s 20 individual chapters each represent credit unions located within designated geographic boundaries. The Association’s chapter program promotes unity among credit unions in a local area through communication, networking, training and participation in community, state and national projects that support the cooperative spirit of the credit union movement.
Our local chapter is the Southwest Washington Chapter of Credit Unions. We are a not-for-profit cooperative of volunteers from eleven credit unions located in Clark and Cowlitz Counties. We support our member credit unions in the areas of: development of future leaders, education and training of staff, advocacy for the credit union not-for-profit difference and our shared commitment to improving our communities.
